This first full figure paintings was my first self portrait. Some how Stefan convinced me to do one after I saw a full figure of a soldier painting, I was inspired to do the same.
Portraits, are definitely “work” for me. They cause me the most struggle with painting, and can take me the longest to bring to a close. However after starting to paint my friends portraits for their birthday I found more fun in it than I thought I would, makes for a pretty memorable gift, and a great excuse for me to paint them every year.
Portrait painting is still work for me but after Erika’s Wedding Portrait I learned some very valuable lessons that has made portrait painting a more enjoyable process and I will continue to paint my friends on their birthday if they let me.
